New Maps and Game Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Activision has just pushed out a new update to their latest Call of Duty game which contains new free maps and a new mode. Activision promises that the new content is free to download and use and will also include major community events in support of Modern Warfare. Furthermore, the update also includes various bug fixes, tuning and play balancing across the game.

Two new maps

The new maps include two new places which Activision has named Shoot House and Krovnik Farmland.

Shoot house

This map is set in the deserts of fictional country Urzikstan, where you will be placed in a military training Shoot House facility. This map features a tight, three-lane map focused on close quarter combat, alas being a medium sized map.

From the central intersection, one will be able to get sight of all four sides of the map. It is expected that the middle of the map will be the most intensive part.

Various location points include military components and equipment, such as a decommissioned helicopter mounted to a wall close to the center of the facility, as well as various target range assets scattered across the map.

Krovnik Farmland (Ground War)

Although it is now riddled in military conflict, Krovnik Farmland was once as idyillic rural farm land. The scars are visible across this Ground War map, which was designed for battles on a massive scale. Here, a distinctly different atmosphere can be experienced, where epic and frenetic Domination matches across a vast and undulating rural landscape, featuring farmhouses, windmills, silos, and other agricultural scenery can be played.

New Game Modes

Hardpoint

In Hardpoint, secure and defend a specific “hardpoint” on the map by repelling enemy incursions. The hardpoint is rotated several times during the match to different positions. Learning the locations where the hardpoint is likely to be will give the team a big advantage.

The score increases each second when the team is within the hardpoint, with no points being earned when no team members are in the hardpoint. The first team to get to 250 points will claim victory.
